Sunday 30th April - walk **** Orwell Country Park near Ipswich - Sunny periods.

The nice weather continues not quite as good as yesterday but still OK for exercises in the garden while Mag sorts out her raised beds and pot shelves before I once again pack a picnic and we head over to Levington, parking near the church. We manage to get our bench with lovely views down to the River Orwell with loads of yachts out in light breezes but hazy today. Once again, a yummy sandwich while watching 19 deer in the large field with what we think a couple of peregrines or sparrow hawks and were later joined by a robin. With it approaching two we had to drive on to Orwell Country Park to meet up with our son Daniel, his partner Jay and the lovely Maeva for a walk-through bluebell wood:) With Maeva in a sling on her das chest we headed off, the park was heaving but once in the woods and foreshore we hardly see anyone:) Maeva looks cool in her new shades but is soon asleep with the bluebells looking wonderful. Then down to the River Orwell with the tide really low we walk along the beach down towards Pin Mill, reaching Alesbourne Priory golf course we turn inland taking the forest path back going up the hill for Dan to see once again the huge tree where we used to play under when they were small! Then back through the pines section where we spot a couple of squirrels chasing each other. Back at the van we return the scenic route through Levington to our house for a cuppa and cake, top weekend:) Poor Maeva was a little fractious, maybe she has some teeth coming?
